Managed to get out & about on wednesday after doing
a night shift for a week so decided to go to Rodley to
hopefully spot the Otter and Cetti's Warbler but failed
on both accounts but it was still an enjoyable outing with
45 species spotted on the day.
Bumped into my friend and work colleague Chris T while
at Rodley and after a quick natter I went off in search of a
rarity and a lot of wishful thinking.
Rodley NR-:
Grey Heron, Robin, Greenfinch, Pochard, Wigeon, Wren,
Bull, Green and Goldfinch, Little Grebe, Tufted Duck,
Goldcrest, flock of Linnet, Gadwall, Moorhen, Coot,
Blue Tit, Great Tit, LBB Gull, BH Gull, Herring Gull,
Reed Bunting, Corvids, Chaffinch, Canada & Greylag geese
I then drove over to Adel Dam NR for a nosey and was
in the first hide when another two friends and cracking
fella's walked in Graham H and Dave L which was a big
and nice surprise as they also had travelled from Halifax.
Adel Dam-:
Tufted Duck, Goldeneye, Mallard, Blue, Great and Coal Tit,
Nuthatch, GSW, LTT, Starling, Blackbird, Mistle Thrush,
Chaffinch, Moorhen, Jay, Gooseander, Gulls galore, Jackdaw,
Crow, Magpie, Grey Heron, Cormorant, Dunnock, Song Thrush
Eldwick Moor-:

Sounds like a great day out Dave.
Like the Great Spotted Woodpecker and the Goldcrest in the dappled light.
Nice blog.
