Elvis Starling

A quick garden watch today provided 8 Goldfinch,
3 Greenfinch, 2 Chaffinch, Dunnock and Blackbird
and a Starling singing the song of the Curlew believe
it or not, I always had an idea the they could imitate
other birds but this was unbelievable.

Lockdown Pic's

With the lockdown being on Ive stuck to what's
happening in the garden and back fields and reports
of things happening around and about.

Grey Heron flying low over town and Claremount
then took a sharp right towards Shibden Park at one
point I thought it was going to hit my window,
Red Kite was reported over Swalesmoor towards
Shibden but I didn't catch it going over which was a
shame, Kestrel was hunting over Claremount Hill.

Garden had Gold, Green, Bull and Chaffinch, Blue
and Great Tit, Dunnock and Blackbird, Starling and
Corvids and Pigeons and a nice surprise was the visit
of a Linnet into the garden. butterflies and bee's also
have been seen. Green Woodpecker was flying across
and yaffling and the Skylarks were singing well in the
  back field.

Freezing Cold Walk

Had a look around late afternoon until 6 o'clock in
a freezing cold wind, Fly Flatts felt like I was in the
Arctic it was bitter, and Ive never seen so many
walkers you can tell the pubs are shut.
Found 12 Golden Plover but very flighty, jumping
from 1 field to another everytime I caught up with
them, 20+ Lapwings and lots of Starlings, no sign
of Ring Ouzels and no sign of Osprey that I had
dreams of seeing, a couple of Curlews landed on
beach and what looked like a Redshank, a lot of
Canada's were up there, a Red Grouse was heard
and a Skylark flew up for 2 minutes before realising
it was too windy, I then took a drive around hoping
to see some Owls but only managed a Little Owl but
did manage to spot 5 Roe Deer which was a bonus.

Ring Ouzel at Fly Flatts

Took a trip up to Fly Flatts to see the Ring Ouzel
that had been seen up there, in fact there were 2
while I was there and heard later that 4 had been
seen, lots of Fieldfare reported up that way but I
didn't see any, a bogey bird for me this year Ive
had no luck at all apart from at a distance.
I got up to a spotting place but was very distant
but still glad I got to see the birds, also a Wheatear
was seen, a few birders were up there spotting as
well. I didn't get much photography done as grumpy
Dave P was up there and he always makes me laugh,
hes a proper character so I was too busy laughing than
clicking, Andy C popped up for 5 minutes and Brian S
was seen down by the lake with his dogs and we got a
wave off of him, He's got some cracking pics of the bird
on his blog. Curlew was seen and heard, a few Meadow
Pipit were about and what could of been a Snow Bunting
but will have to stay as a possible.
Garden had Gold, Green, Bull and Chaffinch, Dunnock,
Blackbird, Blue & Great Tit and a Robin.

These Ring Ouzels are from last year
