Jerwood Hill

Stayed local today and took a stroll around Jerwood Hill for
an hour but nothing much about, but what was nice was seeing
a flock of House Sparrows about 20+ in the hedges as we don't
get many of them up here these days, 20+ Wood Pigeon and 100+
Jackdaw were in the fields, Buzzards were doing plenty of
calling but weren't seen and the local Little Owl was in hiding too,
Blue Tit, Robin, Blackbird & Dunnock were other birds seen on the
walk with plenty of distant Rabbits about. Muscovi Ducks, Greylag
and other farm geese were seen also.

Garden had Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Dunnocks that were
doing a bit of courting and I think have a nest in the garden but
could be risky as Magpies, Jackdaws and Crows are always hanging
about, Collared Doves, Blackbirds, Blue Tit and also a hovering
    Kestrel in the back fields.
My evening walk produced 3 Roe Deer which was lovely to see.

Reports of Common Scoter at Cromwell Lake (AC) and of a
Sandwich Tern at Fly Flatts (BS).

Garden late Afternoon

A Quiet garden watch today hoping for something bizarre or
a rarity flying over but it wasn't to be but still had some nice
birds in the garden, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Robin,
Blue Tit, Collared Dove, Coal Tit which I haven't seen in the
garden for a long while and a big Crow which at first I thought
was a Raven but that was just wishful thinking.
5 O'Clock this morning my alarm went off to get up for work
and at 05-10 another wake up call this time from a Tawny Owl
hooting as it flew past the window.

Harewood & Blacktofts

Took my monthly trip today and headed off to Harewood
and then on to Blacktoft Sands for a few hours, the weather
stayed nice for a change which always makes the day more
enjoyable, a pleasant and fruitful day it was too with 55
species of bird seen and 4 Hares and 6 Deer only disappointment
today was missing out on the Halifax Osprey which was seen
in Northowram by AC and then at Fly Flatts by BS and a
Peregrine that was seen over my house by DS, oh well you
    can't win them all.

My Fave bird of the day was the Yellowhammer with having
only seen one twice before and today there was 4 of them.
Red Kite, Marsh Harrier and Buzzard were doing there dancing
in the sky but sadly all at a distance and a Barn Owl was seen
    but not by me unfortunately.
