Woke up today with the intention of going to Rodley NR
and Adel Dam but first I thought I'd go have a look for
the Brambling that had been spotted at Park Lane, on the
way up there I spotted 20+ Lapwing in the trailer park field.
When I got there DP was already scouting for the Brambling
and he'd managed to see a couple and then so did I and then a
GSW, what a good start to the day and it got even better only
downfall was that it's a bit dark for photography but still great
to see the amount of activity up there so Rodley and Adel were
forgotten about, DP then said its a shame there's no Treecreeper
and low and behold 2 mins later one showed up which made his
day and then a Nuthatch, a white headed Blackbird and a white
Crow, the lady of the house then came out to see us and brought
with her a cup of coffee for me and DP which was much needed
and appreciated, she was a lovely lady named Denise and told us
about all the wildlife that turns up in her garden, I was amazed.
28 species were seen today in Denise's garden and the field across
the road and there may be some that I've forgotten, overall it was a
fantastic morning's birding, poop for photography but A+ for spotting.
Blackbird, Nuthatch, Wren, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Jay,
Starling, Crow, Jackdaw, Magpie, Collared Dove, Stock Dove,
Brambling, Treecreeper, Redwing, Greenfinch, BH Gull, Lapwing,
Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Great Tit, GSW, House Sparrow, Herring Gull,
Mistle Thrush, Robin, Woodpigeon, 1 warbler type bird ?
