Had a nice day out at Alkborough Flatts today and the weather
turned out nice, went with a couple of friends CT & Jan ( yan ).
After a quiet start it turned up a few rarities and a few birds I
need help with Identifying.
Lots of Sedge & Reed Warblers, 5 Curlew
3 Bearded Tits which CT seen and photographed but me and
Jan missed coz we were busy looking for my car keys what a
dum dum was gutted, Water Rail turned up but was as fast as the
road runner cartoon, 3 Little Egret, 200+ Avocet but too far away
for good snaps, 15 Godwits, 1 Marsh Harrier at a distance but still
looked great, 1 Goshawk being mobbed by Swallows, 6 Linnets,
20+ Willow Warblers, 1 Cetti's Warbler ( what a voice ), 50+ Lapwings,
Greenshank, Dunlin, Knot, Shelduck, Spoonbill flyover, 2 Wren, 2 Pied
Wagtail and lots of Gulls, 2 Cormorant, 50+ Greylag, 6 Meadow Pipit,
4 Skylark, 100+ Reed Bunting they were everywhere deffo need all day
to get around it all and maybe two get the best out of it.
Photography wise I had too many misses so that was a disappointment.
