A Yellow Wagtail Day

  Took a drive out to the Selby area to meet with a
  friend CT hoping to see Red Footed Falcon and
  Yellow Wagtail of which Ive only ever seen a
   juvenile so was excited to some adults and I
  wasn't disappointed after an hours wait in the
  pouring rain, was told the falcon hadn't been
  seen since the day before, but we got a fleeting
  glance of it at a distance has it returned and flew
  over the field and then away again, 4 wagtails
  popped up on top of the wheat stems and one on
  the path, what an incredible looking bird they are
  beautiful and the colour wow.

  Next stop was Collingham hoping to see the
  Rosy Starling that are visitors from Eastern Europe,
  but no joy on this one although it was seen there on
  the evening of the day we visited, but it wasn't a
  complete waste as the Yellowhammers were busy
  and Red Kite cycled above.

  The Rosy Starling is the same bird I seen at Coley
  graveyard last year but never got a pic.

 

Weekend Exploits

 Out & about over the weekend took a lad and his
 son out around a local area, I hope they enjoyed it.
 Long-Eared Owl, Barn Owl, Curlew, Snipe, Pheasant,
 Kestrel and Merlin were seen and lots of the regular
 birds. Saturday I got soaked after the rain caught me
 without any wet protection on, nice walk on the moors
 Sunday.

LEO'S Working Hard

 The Long-Eared Owls are working well and
 finding plenty of food. They've been very busy
 and its been great watching them.
Also seen were Goldcrest, Curlew, Flock of Canada's,
Roe Deer, Green Woodpecker was seen by some others,
Kestrel and the regular birds also female Pheasant.

Owl Bonanza Again

 Out again last night with Roy H, latish to see what was about and
 wasn't disappointed again, hunting Long-Eared Owls,
 Barn Owls, lots of Curlew and Wood Pigeon, Swallows
 and Swifts, House Martins and the regular birds.
