Brighouse to Elland

Took a walk along the canal today from Brighouse to Elland and
popped down to the river now and again, it was a lovely walk but
a bit gloomy and dark for photography under all the trees, but still I
managed to spot a few birds along the way, though I didn't get to see
the Sand Martins which was my main aim but only because I got stuck
behind a family along the canal towards where the birds had been seen
and it would've taken me a week to get there at the pace they were going
and no room to pass, so I turned around and headed toward Elland.

A juvenile Moorhen was on the river Wood Pigeon and Crows and a
few Gulls were seen at the Brighouse end, down at the beach on the
way to Cromwell Bottom were Grey Wagtail, Wren, Cormorant, BH Gull,
Treecreeper and a Robin.

On the river opposite the fishing lake were Canada Geese and Gulls, further
up the river on the Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve were 6 Goosander,
8 Mallard, 2 Blackcap in the trees and 2 Kingfisher flypasts.

At the viewing area were Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Robin,
Dunnock, Blackbird and Nuthatch. Signs of Otter also seen.

GARDEN-
Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Collared Dove, 6 Linnet, Greenfinch, Bats,
in the backield were Swift, Kestrel and a Sparrowhawk.
