Harewood & Blacktofts

Took my monthly trip today and headed off to Harewood
and then on to Blacktoft Sands for a few hours, the weather
stayed nice for a change which always makes the day more
enjoyable, a pleasant and fruitful day it was too with 55
species of bird seen and 4 Hares and 6 Deer only disappointment
today was missing out on the Halifax Osprey which was seen
in Northowram by AC and then at Fly Flatts by BS and a
Peregrine that was seen over my house by DS, oh well you
    can't win them all.

My Fave bird of the day was the Yellowhammer with having
only seen one twice before and today there was 4 of them.
Red Kite, Marsh Harrier and Buzzard were doing there dancing
in the sky but sadly all at a distance and a Barn Owl was seen
    but not by me unfortunately.

A few years back Yellowhammers were a common sight at Cromwell Bottom . You could guarantee them in the trees by the weir near the railway track.
