New Years Day Treat

First time out for 6 weeks due to work, xmas, weather and computer problems
so went down to Cromwell Bottom for a look but not expecting much after all
the rain and floods but turned out to be an eventful and pleasing day bird wise,
but the reserve had taken a battering from the floods with 2 sunken barges on
the canal, bridge bottom destroyed and hanging on its last legs, 3 fridges on
top of the bridges over the river, most of the reeds flattened and the viewing
        area under water.

6 Jays, 2 Treecreepers, 1 Siskin, 2 Nuthatch and the regular visitors to the
viewing area, 4 Goosander and 2 Jay at the top weir, 1 Cormorant flyover,
2 Nuthatch at the compound and a Great Spotted Woodpecker at the car
park feeders, also 8 Long Tailed Tits on the walk around the reserve.
