Goosander, and the regular stuff, Green Woodpecker heard but not seen also

Shoveller was reported on the Lagoon and Firecrest was seen flying into the

       viewing area by a photographer.

Todays Happenings

Took a walk to Wainstalls and then down to Cromwell Bottom to

see what was about, Wainstalls had Little Owl, Red Grouse, Kestrel

and a few Stonechat, Cromwell had Lesser Spotted Woodpecker 2 mins

after getting out of my car, it was the drumming I heard first so I made a

beeline towards it and there it was dancing about high up in the trees, it

was near the cabin where the big concrete slab is and flitted around there

and into the trees across the bridge on the same side, it scarpered when the

workmen started up a digger, LTT, Green Woodpecker, Redpoll, Siskin,

Song Thrush, Buzzard, Nuthatch, 10 Heron, 2 Goosander, Cormorant were

seen along with the usual stuff.

The Awesome Firecrest

Todays awesome find on my walk around Cromwell Bottom NR, I was

absolutely over the moon to spot this little beauty, very elusive though

and hyperactive it was difficult to photograph to say the least, I've lots of

pics of twigs, leaves and blurs trying to lock onto it, but got a few to keep

      me happy

Pink-Footed Goose

Took a walk up to Raggalds Flood to see if the Pink-Footed Goose

was still there and luckily enough it was, strange that it was on its own,

although I know flocks of them have been flying over.

also seen a few Owls on my outing as well which was good to see.

Also 4 Roe Deer were spotted as well.

Fieldfare on Taylor Lane

After a walk around Ogden Water during the bad weather

which produced very little, it was a nice surprise to come

across a field of Fieldfare at the top of Taylor Lane as I was

driving home in the icy conditions.
