2 Linnets and a Yellowhammer

Not done  a lot of birdwatching or getting out this week
with being absolutely worn out after work after being walking
around in the heat for 5 hours a day, but I did get a nice surprise
yesterday when I looked out into the garden, a beautiful bright
Yellowhammer on the feeders with a base, but it was off before
I could get to the camera and then 10 minutes later 2 Linnet flew
into the trees in the garden so another bonus for yesterday but I
did manage to snatch a few shots before they flew off this time.

Garden has had the regular birds apart from the ones Ive already
mentioned during the week, though I also had 6 Long Tailed Tits
visiting on one of the days.

Calder River & Canal

Took a walk along the canal and river on Thursday from Elland
to Copley and an enjoyable walk it was too and had breakfast at
the Watermill along the way, plenty of birdsong but not many
chances of decent photographs with all the foliage and sun in my
eyes, it was nice to see the Dippers and Grey Wagtails fluttering
and bouncing about along the river and a Kingfisher flypast, a
Roe Deer appeared across the canal which was lovely to see,
6 LTTS and Wrens were busy over the river along with Robins,
Blue Tits and a family of Mallards, lots of Butterfly's & Dragonfly's

Garden was busy with Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch a few
Blue Tits, Collared Doves, a single Wren, a couple of Chaffinch
and what Ive not seen for a while a hovering Kestrel in the back
 field.

Garden Visitors and a Parrot.

I haven't been out of late due to watching the world cup
and the weather being much too hot for me as Ive been
exhausted after walking around for 5 hours delivering
mail in this heat, the old body can't take it anymore.

The visitors Ive had have been Goldfinch, Greenfinch,
Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Collared Dove, Blue & Great Tit,
Blackbird, Starling, Wood Pigeon, Sparrowhawk had a
couple of visits, Peregrine flew over twice, lots of Swift
and a few Swallow which I thought might have flown to
Africa by now, House Sparrows which was a surprise but
no House Martins which was disappointing, also Ive not
seen a Kestrel over the backs for a while whereas it used
to be a nightly event at one time, Green Woodpecker showed
up again but only for a short stay and nothing heard from the
local Tawny Owl which I expect every couple of nights.

Deer, Fox, Frog, Wood Mouse and Weasel on the animal side.

At work a Ring-Necked Parakeet flew over, I thought it was a
Raptor at first until I saw the length of its tail which is a first for
me, a nice surprise but a shock at it being in such an urban place,
it was only a half a mile out of Bradford City Centre.
2 Stock Dove and Dunnock also seen in the garden.
